Very disappointing

We requested a cot for our baby, and were given a room that hardly fit the queen bed in. We were then told to go to reception to be issued a new room. We put the baby back in the pram, collected all our goods, and went from the 7th floor to reception. We were re-issued a new room on the 7th floor. The organisation of the rooms was shocking. The 2nd room was just big enough, but was next to renovations.

We won't stay again.

Melbourne is a nice town. We visited the zoo, which was amazing - really good for prams, as it's very flat.

Review of room 419

Room good value for money but a bit tired. The small window made the room feel too enclosed. Lack of water pressure meant that the hot/cold mix was never ok - froze or burnt. The sink in the bathroom leaked underneath and one of the chairs arm was broken. Gave me the impression of a hotel which is about to be torn down and rebuilt or renovated soon because there appeared to be no maintenance done in room 419.

However, a great TV in the room and facilities such as kettle, iron & board, hair dryer all worked ok. Staff were all friendly and pleasant and our room was attended each day to our satisfaction. Very central, walking to many attractions. Lots of food places close at hand. The shower was the one thing that will cause me to go elsewhere next time.

Taxi drivers were all polite, friendly, helpful, well dressed and their taxis were immaculate. Happy to take you on a short ride as they are to take you on a long ride. Bus shuttle and city tram were great. Busy city after dark, people everywhere. Melbourne shopping not that good, all souveniers and tshirts. Obviously the shopping I wanted was in the suburbs. We had a good stay.

Victoria in Melbourne

Location on little collins street excellent, standard room OK, unfortunatally street noise from, garbage trucks, street cleaners and drunks made sleeping very difficult. Needs double glazing.

Melbourne very busy lots to see and do theatre arts dining markets trams great.
